Prayer, a binding force

Excerpt from Why Revival Tarries...
The words of E.M Bounds says "No erudition, no purity of diction, no width of mental outlook, no flowers of eloquence,  no grace of person can atone for lack of fire. Prayer ascends by fire. Flame gives prayer access as well as wings, acceptance as well as energy. There is no incense without fire o prayer with flame"

That is why i know that prayer is conditioned by spirituality and it affects eternity. In an unction-less preacher, the word is dead but a sermon born in the heart reaches the heart. Unction cannot be learned, only earned through prayer. Unction is God's knighthood for the soldier, preacher who preaches has wrestled in prayer and gained victory. Victory is won in the prayer closet. Unction is like dynamite that will pierce and percolate, sweeten and soften, when the hammer of logic and the fire of human zeal fail to open the strong heart.
By the attitude of prayer, we tell Gos that what was begun in the spirit  we can finish in the flesh. An unctionless intellectualism produces barren alters, Vision and passion = Success.
Action is not unction
Commotion is not creation
Rattles is not revivals
"The secret of praying is praying in secret. A sinning man will not stop praying and a praying man will stop sinning. We are beggared and bankrupt, but not broken nor bent even."

"Prayer is profoundly simple and simply profound. Prayer is the simplest form of speech that infant lips can try. Prayer though is so sublime that it outranges all speech and exhausts man's vocabulary. Prayer is to a believer what capital is to the business man. Matthew Henry says "When God intends great mercy for his people, the first thing He does is set them a-praying." One place alone will keep the heart in passion and the eyes in vision-The place of prayer.
